Kenny and Maggie, lovers of long standing, have been saving for their marriage. One day, Maggie suspects herself to be pregnant. She suggests getting married earlier. Kenny is thunder struck as he has just lost every cent in the stock market. But he has to agree. First, he has to endure Maggie's mother's lack of good manners. He borrows from a loan shark hoping to cover it with cash gifts from friends. But when Maggie finds her pregnancy is a false alarm, Kenny is angry and tells her about the money. On its eve, the loan shark comes and gets the gift cash. In turn, he is robbed of the money. Then the police need the money as an evidence. That leaves Kenny penniless......
